Wandell...Your thoughts

The Pro Comp 4" lift states it will allow 35" tires and the Rancho kit states 33" tires. What do you make of this? Any ideas why they would be different if the lift is the same amount? What is your thoughts on the two kits for 4" lifts?

I have considered the 6" lifts by the favorite brands but not sure I want to go that extreme. Your thoughts??

You can fit 35s on the rancho 4 inch. You will regret getting the 4 inch if you are considering the 6 inch. Just by mentioning it, i can tell you that that is the one you want. I wold reccomend the rcd 5 inc suspension lift.

ive seen alot of trucks running the 4" rancho and 295/75/16's. awesome setup, almost perfect IMO. you can stuff 35's on a 4" lift, but you cant run wide rims without some trimming. i know guys that have 150k on their Rancho's with zero problems. you can go wrong either way.

Most companies severly underestimate the tire size you can run. I'd suggest the 5 inch RCD or 6 inch Fabtech lifts, but the Rancho would be third on my list.

I'm thinking that if go only 4" I will want it higher so I'm looking now at the 6" kits. What about the BDS kit? I like the fact you can get it rear springs instead of blocks. That being said, I wonder how it will affect my ride being a deeper arch to gain the lift? It also specs max tire and wheel combo as 35x12.50, 16x8 w/4.5" BS.

I've heard nothing but good reviews on the BDS lifts. Most companies use an increased number of thinner leaves to offset the affect of an increased arch on lift spring.

Also heard that the new springs over blocks will yield a better ride, and probably worth the money. What are some of the prices you found on the BDS 6" inch?

I have always heard horror stories about stacking blocks so I thought the spring would be better. Granted, I have done the stacked blocks in the past but I was much younger and didn't care then. Now I look at things a little different.

I found it on the BDS website with springs for about $2400 with shocks. I haven't looked anywhere else yet but 4WP doesn't show BDS on the site. I'm not sure who else to check on the net though.

Yeah, that would make sense. Have you heard of anyone using a 6" kit and having to cut tie rod ends 3/8" shorter? All the 6" kits show to do it but the Fabtech says SOME models. They all look pretty comparable in engineering and design as well as quality. I think the RCD kit looks the least quality but, you list it first, is it a better kit?? How so??

Why do you recommend the RCD? What do you have on yours?

I only have a 3inch body lift, but is well known that the RCD is the best kit available for our trucks. It is like the RIZE of the newer body trucks. It comes with Bilstein shocks and is adjustable from 5 to 6 inches.

Oh ok...Yeah the Rize lifts are the nicest I've ever seen. It'd be nice if they would do one for 97-03. Do you know how the adjustment from 5-6" is achieved? Maybe I should take another look at them...

You have to trim the ends of the tie rods with several kits. As far as my recommendation on kits, I'm just passing along reviews of thousands of members here and at FTW.
