Tire & Shock Combination

What replacement shocks would you suggest for the OEM 20" wheel setup?
I'm not looking to add overall height to the truck but would like a better shock than OEM.
I'll be changing out the OEM 20" Pirellis after Chrictmas so I would like the tire and shock to in agreement with each other, probably with Michilin MTX M+S.
My driving consists of mainly highway driving and some construction site visits.
Thanks for all replys.

Shocks

Bilsteins without question. The ride is awsome and you have the option of a 2" leveling kit built in if you chose to go that way.

Thanks Bill_T

Which Bilstein shock has the 2" leveling feature built in?
I looked on the Bilstein website and did not see that feature.

Bilsteins

Kehinnc, the Bilstein your looking for are the 5100 series:

P/N BE5-C293 and BE5-294

Top Gun Customz delivered them to my door for $389 for the set. Also Shock Warehouse has some good deals. Autozone carries them but does not stock them and they were about $60 higher than online.

Bill_T,
Does each of the 4 shocks have this leveling adjustment or just the front or rear?
I have to park in a parking deck that has a low 6'-8" height is some areas.
Sorry for all of the questions, but I want to be informed as much as possible before I go to my local shop to buy and have these installed.
Also I am not sure of all the posts about the need for leveling of the truck or is it a personal thing about the truck.
Thanks!

Kehinnc, only the fronts are adjustable, it will give you a level ride. If you want to lift the rear, go with an AAL or block.

Question

Hey, I have a skyjacker 2 inch leveling kit I already installed on my 07 reg. Cab, in order to install the adjustable billsteins am I gonna have to pull the spacers or are the billsteins long enough 2 support the front end with the spacers in? Thanks David

ocooffroad,

You can only use the 5100 series in the stock height position if you are already using a leveling kit. Otherwise you would have to remove your current spacer to take advantage of the 5100's built in 2" lift. You cannot use the both to lift the front end.

I have procrastinated on getting replacement shocks.
The Bilstein REP gave me product information for non-adjustable heights and the adjustable height shocks.
Non-adjustable: yellow body with blue boot.
PN BE5-A934 H0 Front
PN BE5-A935 H0 Rear
Adjustable: Silver body with black boot.
PN BE5-C298 H1 Front
PN BE5-C299 H0 Rear
As far as ride comparison between the 2, is one better than the other or are they about the same ride. Other than height adjustment of course.
For my driving, I am not looking to increase height but a better overall ride.

Also, I have gotten installed quotes ranging from $ 635 to $792.

Thanks and All replys are appriciated.
