I am assuming that you have a 4wd because 2wd do not have torsion bars. Look underneath your truck at about the door and you will see a bar running from the front to your cross member. You will see the head of the bolt sticking down from where they meet the cross member. You have to turn each bolt the same amount so mark them. You will probably need a 1/2 ratchet and it makes it easier if you will jack the front end of the truck up off the ground.

P.S. - Remember that you will need a front end alignment after and the more you crank them the more stress it puts on them.

How to crank my torsion bar on my 1998 Ford Expedition 4x4??

HI wandall and other guys, I have been reading the forums on f150 4x4 how to crank the torsion bars and I am wondering if its the same for the ford epxedition 1998? I want to crank my torsion bars on my expedition...i bought it used and it already has a lift on it im guessing its a 4 inch lift or so and its stink bug, So thats why i want to try and crank the front so it will be alittle higher in the front plus, im gonna use coil compresser clamps for the back so the back gets lower alitle bit. any other suggestions on what i could do? tahnks

Yes, you can crank up the torsion bars on the Expy just like the F-150's. Also, I would not use coilspring clamps. You will wind up destroying your springs.

I believe Eibach and Groundforce make lowering springs.

Try 4 Wheel Parts. I think they are around $100.
