2004 FX4 Leveling kit

I am putting BFG 305 65 18 tires on my truck. Can someone please offer advice on which leveling kit to go with? I want the truck to be level but not lower in the rear. I would rather it be level or slightly lower in the front.

I was thinking of going with the Daystar 2.5". Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend the Autospring leveling kit for ease of install:

Put the Autospring 2.5" in my 04 FX4 SuperCrew. Front still a tad down. Easy to install if you follow instructions. Nice thing about it was no change in ride. Rode rough enough as it was.

2.5" Daystar.

I won't be installing it myself. The local shop normally uses the Daystar 2.5".

Does anyone know if there would be any difference in ride quality between the Daystar and the Autospring?

Also wondering if I should go 2" or 2.5" Leveling ket?

ANY.

I'd personally go with the 2" for a little less stress on your suspension components.

My '04 Lariat sat so high in the rear stock I had to go with the 2.5" Daystar kit. It's been installed on my truck for over 2 1/2 years and over 20k miles with no problems. If your truck need's shock's I would also recommend going with a set of adjustable shock's because you will need them sooner or later with the large tires.

Less stress on suspension 2"

Thanks for the reply Copenhagen 848. Do you know if anyone has had problems with their suspension when going with the 2.5" ?
I heard it could put added stress on ball joints.

Also, I would like to find the best one as far as ride quality and durabillity?

Nice truck PawPaw. I like the stance of your truck with the 2.5" Daystar. Thats the look I'm going for. I have the FX4 with stock 18".
Do you know if there is any difference in the FX4 suspension and the Lariat suspension as far as leveling the truck goes?

Chris, the FX4 shock's may have a little more stiffness than the Lariat shock's and may cause the FX4 to sit a little higher than the Lariat (on the '04 models) but that's about it. Before you pay $250 to $350 for a daystar kit installed I would check out some Bilstein or Rancho adjustable shock's. Either way a leveling kit and larger tires will make a great looking truck look even better. To me it's the best mod you can start with.

PawPaw, Thanks for the reply. Do you know how much more the shocks would be ?
And, Do I still have to install a leveling kit with adjustible shocks?

I just want a leveling kit that will make the truck dead level or slightly lower in the front. I definitely do not want the it to look like it's setting lower in the rear. I also don't to give up the stock ride. It sounds like the "Daystar" will be OK.

I just replaced my autospring this weekend with the new Daystar top of coil spacer. I didn't think it would make much of a difference but to my surprise it made a huge ride difference. I vote Daystar for sure.

those who have read my post know I felt strongly for the AS.

Stiffness in shocks will have to effect in ride height.

I like the look of your truck.
Is that the Daystar 2.5." ? And if so, Is the front slightly lower than the back.

You said theres a new "Daystar" top of the coil spacer. Is that a typo or Is that something differen't I could consider ?
