Is cutting required to install a 6 inch lift like RCD, Pro Comp or Rize?

 

i noticed the rcd kit says you may need to make some bosses in the lower control arms or something for proper clearance but only maybe id ask someone who has one

 

Yes, some cutting on the drivers side front differential mount is required to drop the front differential down.

all lifts are like this, so the truck can never be returned to stock if need be?

 

Pro Comp is bolt on and can be removed to return to stock. The others, I would think so but have no experience.

 

That statement is false, I have the procomp and a write-up to prove I know what I'm talking about.

any kit that drops the front differential by 6" (or more) will require alteration of the mount for the crossover so the driveshaft can connect to it. You can see why in the write-up I linked.

You can return it to stock, just keep the piece you cut off and weld it back in place. I just wanted to clarify that it's not just a matter of bolting and unbolting.
