Is this a BIG or small problem?

What do you call the bar that is broken here? and what are some of the things i can do to fix this my self? It looks like on the other side that there is a bushing and a bolt that screws on top of the bar. I feel stupid not even knowing what it is but i try not to pay anyone to fix something i can fix my self. I know when I did it but it hasn't changed my ride quality since I've done it.

I think the bar is your sway bar, and the broken part is your sway bar end-link. If I'm wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected. I'm sure you can order a new end-link through Ford. It's not THAT big of a deal, but you'll still want to get it fixed....it helps with body roll on corners, etc.

EDIT: Here is a link to look at, seems to be a common problem:

it's no big deal, mine was $8 for the bolt at my ford dealer and was very easy to replace

I had that break on my old Cherokee, actually made a pretty big difference once I fixed it.
