Rancho 4"

Well now that I have found out that I cant run the KMC XD wheels with the 4" superlift, I have to go with the Racho 4", unless theres anything better. I wanted to know what everyone thinks about the Rancho, how it rides, and also some pics if available. Thanks everyone!

Have it, love it, easy install if you plan on doing it yourself, can run stock wheels, search "Rancho" and you'll find a ton of info on it. Pics in my gallery.

Good News!!
Just a few questions for you:
Whats the ride like and which shocks did you use?
Is the wider track width in the front that big of a difference?
Where you get it and price??

Thanks a lot

The ride is good, a little stiff like a pickup should be. I found a kit on ebay with RS9000X adjustable shocks for $1700 shipped. The front wheels only stick out a tad more than the rears, only noticeable if you're specifically looking for it (pic in my gallery of it).

Tuchy I have the same problem as you, I want the 4" Rancho + the XD series. But i cant decide if i want chrome or Black. Copenhagen What size of tires would u reccomend with the 4 inch lift. I was looking at the Toyo Open country M/Ts and the Procomp X tereains. Iam leaning towards the Pro Comp because iam not to sure how the toyo's will handle on all the highway driving i have to do.

I have the Rancho lift and have no problems. I have the adjustable shocks and prefer to make adjustments if needed. The wheels you use will determine how far they will stick out. The kit was tested on an 18x9 wheel with 6" of backspace, so anything different than that I believe will stick out more noticeably. I like the one-piece cradle design type. Less moving parts. Whether they are better or not is a different story, but at least in my mind is a better design. It is actually one of the most recommended lifts on the forum. Along with Fabtech and RCD.

I recommend a 35" tire on a wheel with about 5.5" of backspacing (give or take a little bit). They Toyo M/Ts are awesome on the highway, very quiet for a mud tire. If you do mostly highway driving, you may want to go with an all-terrain tire however, as they will last longer.

Good Reviews!!
I plan on going with the Rancho now, and with the KMC Rockstars in black with the 35" Toyo MT's
the specs for the wheel are KMC XD 775 Rockstar Black Size: 20x8.5 Bolt Pattern: 6x135 Offset: 35MM Back Spacing: 6.13 inch
Any reviews for this set up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Thanks copenhagen, appreciate it. Have any of you guys looked into the Roush COLD AIR INTAKE system yet, i was thinking of getting one, but i havent herd anything about it yet might jst stick with K&N. Also when you put on your 35s did you lose any power. If so did you have to reset ur gearing.

Those wheels won't work with the Rancho lift - too much backspacing. The max you can use is 6". You're going to have a hard time finding a suspension lift that will work with backspacing of 6" or more, especially with the side lugs that the Toyo muds have. You may want to consider a different wheel.

Here are the specs on the Rancho kit:

I haven't considered an intake at all....the performance gain is not worth the $ in my opinion. I noticed a considerable power loss with the 35's, but it not unbearable. I'm not planning on changing gears.

I believe it's because of the new, longer steering knuckles that are used with after market lifts. I only have about .3" clearance between the sidewall of my tires and the steering knuckles.

you seem prett set on running these rockstars. Do this:

Get a Fabtech 6" lift, and go with the 20" rockstars with 4.5" backspacing. They will stick out, but you wont need to worry about rubbing because you have a 6" lift, not 4". The fabtech basic kit replaces all of your shocks, and rides great, and costs less then the rancho. So, why not??

Where did you find the XD775 Rockstar that has 6x135mm with 4.5" backspace? I searched and I couldn't find any.
