old vs. new
old vs. new
Hey guys...I'm new to this site but looks like alot of good info on here! I just parted with my 2003 supercrew and got a new body style 2005. Is it just me or are the older bodystyle trucks just better!! My new one rides rougher, not as much power, and just stinks compared to the old 2003!! If you have input please advise!!!
Thanks!
Thanks!
well, it shouldn't ride rougher. It's got a better suspension design, maybe you should replace the shocks. The new ones are also much heavier with only marginally more power, but if you really don't like yours I'll trade ya.
it is an 05 maybe the previous owner put a AAL (add a leaf) in the rear for towing or something??? my best friend has a 03 supercab when i was stock no performance mods, he had a edge tuner, intake, and exhaust we raced i smoked him by a good 2 car lanks.... and his wasnt smoother than mine thas for damn sure!
well, i personally like the older body style better, at least in the supercab. BTW, i have an 03 scab fx4. however, i do like the newer supercrews better, the larger frame complements them well, imho. the reason i went w/ an 03 scab was primarily b/c i needed a 6.5 ft bed, as i have a toolbox, and in an 03 screw with a toolbox, well, to be honest, you can barely fit a pallet in there and shut the tailgate.
however, if i could afford it, i would get a brand new loaded screw fx4 with the 6.5 ft bed, but i got a great deal on my truck, an 03 5.4 fx4 xlt scab w/ 17.5k miles only for $18k! brand new msrp was $30k. not bad, eh?
