FX2 rear block removal

Before I begin, I have searched and read some of the topics on block removal, but most dealt with 4x4s.

My new FX2 has a pretty serious rear end high rake. I've noticed that it has the blocks (maybe an inch or so tall) that I would like to remove from the rear end just to level it a bit.

Do I need new U-bolts or can I just use the ones I have (since it is already 4x2)?

Any driveline angle issues with this mild of a change?

If I take these out I just need to re-align the pins and bolt everything back up, right?

I will be towing our 3500lb boat, so this little bit of change should not matter much and I think it will look much better.

Thanks for the help!!

Go ahead and take it out, the u-bolts will be fine. I have the block removed and my eibach leafs are about a 1/2 thinner in thickness. Although, you really wont notice that 1" difference, but you would definetly notice the block and 2" gf shackles.

Here is mine with the block and shackles removed:

I think all you need to do is bring the front end up a couple of inches to level it out. Many kits available.

I think the regular XLTs don't but the FX2 does. It sits just barely lower than my dads 4x4 FX4. I can post a pic if you'd like. I was going to do that when I originally wrote this post but I didn't have the camera handy. Good thing it has those big 20" wheels to fill in the wheel-wells...lol!

I'd rather put the rear end down just a little instead of raising the front so maybe I'll go ahead and do this over the weekend when my neighbor is off work to help me / aka give him some beer to crawl under there and do the work for me...haha!

Very nice truck FordScrew24s!

It seems that the 07's and im sure the 08's would have the 1" blocks. What purpose does it serve? Who knows, but they are there even though some 4x4 guys will argue that 4x2's dont have blocks.
