Lift or Level

i am looking to lift and level my 2000 f150 thinking of leveling it first, then a body lift (can't afford suspension lift). i have heard alot of bad things about body lifts screwing up things like transmission links, steering, etc. are they true???

for now i am most interested in leveling kit, how hard are they to install, and which type is best, i was looking at a torsion key leveling kit. do i need any type of torsion spring tool if i take the old key off?

thanks for any suggestions/help

Stay away from aftermarket keys. They will destroy your ride quality and put way to much preload on the torsion bars creating premature wear and tear. Crank the tbars using your oem keys. Several members here have a 3inch body lift with zero problems. I am one of them.

I agree. I'm on my third truck with a body lift and have never had a problem.

very happy with my performance accessories body lift. i tightened my torsion bars with my stock keys. it will make it a rougher ride, but it will level your truck and then some. i got the gap between the top of my tire and the bottom of my wheel well almost 3 inches higher in the front than the back, but you will not have the same ride at all.

of course you dont, i was just saying thats how hi ive gotten mine. but when you do it make sure you do the exact amount of turns on each side otherwise you mess up the way the factory had set it. if it looks like one bolt is sticking out further, thats most likely normal.
