ill let you know right now.it was a pain in the @$$. but it was mostly because i lost the instructions so i was doing it blindly. you'll need some wrenches,(13/16) and a ratchet with sockets, jack, jack stands, and some zip ties. ill try to do a full right up on it. if you want it just let me know. which kit are you planning on getting?

daystar 1.5 comes in tomorrow afternoon. i was going to pay the shop to do it. but if i can do it at my house and save 150$ i'm up for the challenge. the instructions are located on a few websites. my biggest concern is i don't understand the suspension system and how it's put together. I hate doing things without understanding it first.

when the actual spring system comes out is the spring contained on the shock or does it come loose. I would assume that the shock and spring will be self contained when the assembly is taken appart but it looks like your spacer is sitting right ontop of the spring itself. any input or description of the actuall placement of the spacer would be greatly appreciated..

the spacer sits directly on top of the spring. you should have a factory spacer on there now, you will have to remove it. you have to take the shocks all completely in order to get the spring out. ill try to take some pictures tomorrow, that should make it a little easier. one thing you really have to be careful about is the break lines. you dont want to break them when you remove the spring.

my biggest concern is the spring being under pressure. will it be under any pressure when the assembly is taken apart. or is it fully relieved when the truck is jacked up?

so when you get things apart the spring should pull right out with a bit of force.. but the assebly is not a selfcontained unit holding the spring with tention. is what i think you're telling me.

yes. as soon as you un-do the bolts, it will take all the tension off the spring. you dont need to worry about it shooting out at you. it was hard to get it out even without pressure on it
