2000 F150 lift/leveling kits.

I was wondering what available kits there are to lift the truck approx. 3-4 inches. I've found some torsion keys, that claim to lift around 2-3inches. Is that recommended? or would I be better off getting levelling spindles? And with a 3-4 inch lift, what size of tire could I possibly run? Thanks for the advice.

Stay away from aftermarket torsion keys. They will destroy your ride and put way to much preload causing premature wear and tear. Crank the torsion bars with oem keys and get an alignment. You can get around 2inches of lift. For 3-4 inches of lift you could get a 3inch performance accessories body lift or you can get a 4inch rancho suspension lift....all assuming you have a 4x4. 4x2s do not have torsion bars.

I'm personally not a fan of body lifts, as any vehicle my dad has lifted in the past has all been suspension. But I'm leaning towards the 4 inch Rancho lift, have you or anyone else on this site had any experience with this lift? I know it will be a straight forward install. But anything to look for when installing it would be nice.

I have heard good things about the kit. No personal experiences though.

I was searching some suspension lifts, and came across a tuff country 4.5inch lift, and noticed that it claims a 35inch tall tire, with clearance issues with the stock rims. When the rancho suspension 4inch lift claims a 33inch tall tire, and no apparent problems with a stock rim. Mind you I'm not planning on running the stock rims when I do this. But how could a measley .5inch clear up room for 2inch taller tires?

Here is the tuff country lift:

And the rancho:

Rancho is a better lift and you will clear 35s fine.

I see. I'll go with the rancho lift then. Thanks. Now I just need to find the right tires.

Also, with this lift, do I have to do anything with the steering? Like extended pitman arm? I would just like to have the bases covered before I jump into this. And I like the toyo OC M/T's, but they dont fit a 22inch rim with the 35's, although the OC A/T's do.
