Daystar Install Question
Daystar Install Question
Do you have to remove the spring in order to install the top half of the Daystar kit? My truck is a 2007 F150 4wd.
I am only installing the top piece of the daystar kit that sits ontop of the spring assembly. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I figures so but wanted to make sure before I got it all apart. I will just have to locate a spring compressor now.
By installing just the top part, that is a 1" lift correct?
What is the quality of safety and strength of the one that bolt onto the spring and then bolt onto your truck? Wouldnt they start to creak over time? I dont want to over extend my ball joints either, and when I go offroad, I dont want the suspension to be topping out all the time. That is why I only want ot go 1", this will be to eliminate the rubbing.

Not sure about the daystar cause I have 1/2 the skyjacker on mine which gave me 1.5". The daystar has a bigger coil piece and a smaller top piece so 1" would probably be accurate. I think Bud? put the 1/2 daystar on his vehicle.
Thanks for the replies.
Can you remove the srping with just a standard spring compressor?
Also, my truck seems to "creak" sometimes, is that just the Fabtech drop rubbing against the frame where it bolts up? Usually when I back up and say put the brakes on firm, or when going out of driveways sometimes.

hey yes i did!!!! i put the part that goes in side the coilover essembly... gave me an 1 1/4" i think the part that bolts ontop will give you about that. (1 1/4"-1 1/2")
yes.

Cool thanks. I will have to look at this further this weekend and decide which one I want to install. Probably the one inside the spring so that I dont have to change the bolts on the assembly.

I dont want to stress the ball joints, and make the suspension top out all the time. Especially when i go offroad.
Plus, I only need enough to give my tires a little more clearance.
