Getting an extra inch from the front end (lowering)

I just installed a set of DJM 2" coil springs and Nitro Drop 2 shocks. The rear received hangers and shackles. The drop ended up leveling the truck out almost perfectly front to back which makes the front appear to be a bit taller. I would like to get another inch out of the front end to give it a slight rake. Could I cut an inch off the front coil without giving up the ride or should i source a set of 3" springs and replace the DJM's that i currently have?

There are mixed opinions on cutting coilsprings, but I've seen CHip Foose do it. I think it's like a lot of things, it's fine if you don't go crazy with it.

So to cut the coil spring I would measure the total length of the spring uncompressed, subtract an inch and cut at that point on the coil?

no...dude to cut springs you have to do it slowly and in small increments measure around the circumferance.i'd start with 3 inches first. also dont use a tourch. use a sawzall or hacksaw as the heat from a cutting wheel or tourch will change the rating on the coils. heat is the enemy
