on a 05 f150, do you shocks need to come off in order to install some lift blocks and u-bolts?

 

When I put on a 2.5" fabtech block set in my truck I took off the bolt that holds the bottom of the shock off and let it hang freely. Then to get it back on I had some1 else push the wheel to get the holes to line up to get it back on
