torsion keys?

torsion keys?

hey guys,
im lookin into leveling out my truck to fit 285x70r17. just a couple questions, will i be able to fit 285's with the torsion keys? or will i hafto get a leveling kit? does the torsion keys require an alignment? new shocks? and where would i get the keys? any help would be great thanks!

If your information is accurate in saying a 2005 F150 then you don't have torsion bars. Now if it's a 97-03 then you have torsion bars but that is your leveling kit.

if you do have torsion bars, 97-03 f150's then dont wast money on the keys, just crank yours up with the bolt, it does the same thing. I fit 305/50/20s with ease

they don't actually do the same thing. The torsion keys will give you an additional 2" of lift no matter where your bolts are. So if you gain an inch from cranking then you would get 3" if you had the keys. There are definitely mixed reviews on the keys with some people having problems and others not having any problems.

I'd stay away from the aftermarket torsion bar adjustment keys.

I gained 3" front turning the bolts up, I later turned it down to 2" because my suspension would max out too often just on bumps. you can only go so far, so if you buy the keys and crank them all the way up, your suspension is maxed out. Trust me.
