Suggestions on AAL

Plan on putting some 2" AAL on my 04 f150 4x4, already has a sinch inch lift. Are these things really rough riding?? Any downsides to having them, dont do any towing, mainly a street driver. And if anyone has input on what are the better brands that would be appreciated, thanks.

I added the pro-comp's and didn't really notice a change in ride besides the truck doesn't lean back anymore but then again it already rides a little stiffer with a lift. Even if you infrequently tow or haul anything of decent size you'll appreciate the extra leaf. I was pissed when I saw that Ford is now putting only 3 leafs in (and only two are active).....shoot even my '98 had a 4 pack from factory and the truck weighed less!........and the feminization of the 1/2 ton continues........

I added the AS 1.5" AAL to mine and I am very happy with it. I got just under 2" of lift with it.

The rear is a little stiffer over stock but it is a truck, so it shouldn't ride like a car.

I like my 2" Deaver add-a-leaf.

. . like everyone said, it's a little stiffer but thats going to happen ANY time you create more lift in the rear using leaf packs or add-a-leafs.

I used a Pro-Comp 3" AAL. The ride is a little stiffer, but when you tow something the truck will sit level and not sag as much.

feminization of the 1/2 ton? not hardly. Realize that the 04- up rear springs are 3 inches wide. this allowed ford to have a decent ride and still upped the carrying capacity compared to any previous f150. All with "only 3 leafs"
