maybe 37's??

i have a 2005 f150 (2WD) ext. cab with a fabtech performance 6" w/ dirt logic coilovers and a 5" block in the rear. I currently have 35X12.50-17 pro comp extreme AT's on my truck.
I was wondering if any one has tried running a 37x13.50 on a 2wd with a 5" block or seen it done, im thinking that its gunna rub a little.....

Even if it fit, it would be IMO too much tire not enough lift.

Um i think ur going to rub alot, 4x4 can barly fit 37s with a 6in lift and 2.5in spacers and they sit 2ins higher. But good luck you might want to do a body and a spacer

I am pretty sure you will need a 3inch body lift and spacers, because nooq has 9inches on a 4x2 and fits 36s. Not sure if they rub or not, but it is prolly tight.

the 36's are a tight fit indeed. i was going to get the 37's but i heard that some pretty good trimming had to be done, and it wasnt worth it to cut up the truck. id either go with a body lift and 36's. or if you are set on 37's on your 2wd you are going to need a body lift, adjustable coilovers cranked and a 5" block and a AAL leaf in the rear. and dont forget the gears as well.

i think im going to try the same tires you have 36x13.50 iroks, the 35's just look so damn small, my front bumper is already trimmed a lil because when i first lifted it the 35s rubbed...........i was already geared before the lift i couldnt imagine how it would be without it. And nooq how do the iroks ride and wear on the rode

Go with a bigger tire by adding a body lift kit.

i just got them on monday. They ride very nice, let me remind you, get the radials and not the bias. the radials are more friendly for road use. as for wear i havent had them long enough to see the treadwear, but if i had to guess, i am thinking i could get maybe 30-40k outta them. i dont do alot of driving that is why. but they are a damn good tire for being a swamper on the road. they are louad as f**k, which i love. they tend to wander a little bit at about 70-80 mph, but nothing major. they dont vibrate at fast speeds or low speeds. they deliver the usual characterisitcs of a normal M/T.

if you are a 2wd with just a 6" lift, they are going to rub, being a 13.50" wide tire, they are going to pushed outside the fender, and depending on what wheel you use, it may put it out farther, which in reality will come in contact with the truck quicker. so id be worried about fitment more than anything, IMO i would go with a body lift ontop of that 6", just to play it safe...and so they dont look stuffed. Hope this helps. -Ryan

37x13.5 on a 6' lift 4x4, they will rub the seam at the back of the wheelwell... on a 4x2, they'll rub a lot. 3" Body lift will still be close after cutting the seam out, it's the equivalent of a 1" BL on a 4x4 (starts 2" higher).

The Seam, where is the seam located, I am in need of a tire replacement as well, my BFG's (35"x 12.50 x 18 Muds) have 45k on them and the snow season is approaching. I would like to upgrade to a 37 x 13.50 x 18 toyo MT on my 4.5" backspace wheels, but I am in fear of them rubbing a LOT. Mine is a 4 x 4 w/ factory running boards on a 6/3 lift which extend to the very edge of the rocker. I already had to trim them and the bottom plastic of the inner wheel well to get the 35's on when I did the body lift & leveling kit.

How much more will I need to trim, theres not much plastic in the wheel well left to trim off. The metal of the rocker is actually visible if you look real REAL close.

I forgot to add that I also have prerunner fenders. With the inner well removed, against the floorboard, there's a seam that points at the tire. It's about 1.25" tall. I left about 1/4" there and it still touches occasionally (no BL on mine). I unbolted the factory bars and moved them back a couple inches.
