Question to level or not to level.

So I have been reading this board for a couple of months. I just got an 05 FX4 and had been reading for a while about how the AS leveling kit is the way to go, for low cost lift. So The other day I ordered a 2.5 AS kit and it's here. I already have it. Now I'm reading the boards here and I'm seeing all of these posts on different threads about people having CV problems and stuff. So, I would like anyone that has had a problem with their truck after installing the AS level kit to tell me what happened. Now you got me worried. Does it have anything to do with the year of the truck or what? I also plan on doing (in a month or so) the 1.5" raise in the rear, 3" blocks from AS. I really want to use the 2.5, but not if it's going to cause problems.

The 4x4 order the AS 2.5" and 4x2 AS 2". Thats up to you but I would talk to the Autospring because they make it. Also, Autospring has the 1.5" AAL for the rear. Haven't heard any problems.

Thanks for the reply's, keep em coming. I e mailed AS before I bought anything and told them what I wanted to do, and he recommended the 2.5" kit for the front and the bigger blocks in the rear.

I bought the 2.5 as also but never installed it as the angles were nuts!!! So i made a set. Its 1 1/2 inch thick compared to the AS at a little over 1 3/4inch. Beleive me the 1/4 inch makes a big difference.
What i did was measure from underside of strut mount to the centre of the bolt on lower control arm. Once i got the truck looking level by jacking it up under the front i measured again and this gave me the exact size spacer i needed.
I think the AS 2'' kit is 1 5/8 and the 2.5 kit is 1 3/4 thick. Mine as i said above was 1 1/2. And the angles are nice. I think the 2.5 As would have created some nasty angles.

Good luck.

yeah, I already have the kit for the front and would like to use it. Is it maybe year dependent? Did ford change anything about the way the front diff is mounted after 04?
