wanting to lower...

I want to lower my 07 4x2. Has anyone got any advice as far as which system to use. I don't want it super low, I just don't like jumping up to get in. I see on one website a kit from rousch for like 1400 bucks. I lowered my colorado and it rode so bad I took the kit back off. I don't want to hear from the wife again about wasting money! I don't mind spending the money if the ride is not comprimised too much.

For what its worth (and yes I know this is an old thread) my drivers side mcgaughy leaf spring snapped in half and totally ruined my tire (22") and im forced to put back on my stock leafs for now until I decide what to do. Im thinking a DJM shackle to maintain the stock spring rate so this does not happen again and ruin another $400 tire.

This suspension was never placed in any awkward loads other than a few (and I mean very few) hard launches.

For their leaf pack to snap in half in the center tells me they might be cheap springs "?"
