6" fabtech lift...is my driveline supposed to extend this far??

Had a 6" fabtech lift installed then shortly noticed my driveline is sticking out of the transmission pretty far, is this normal? should i have it extended? i know it needs some travel but this seems like alot, heres some pics. as you can see there are old marks where it used to be and since the lift it has changed.

holy cow thats fricking weird. i just noticed mine looks like that today. Ive had my fabtech on for two years and im always under my truck doing stuff and have never noticed it. the reason i saw it today is because i have some new squeeks and it sounds like its coming from the driveshaft. like maybe u joints. so im not sure about this either. weird i just noticed it today. do you have any strange noises?

Toyz 08-17-2007 10:14 AM

I have alot of noises, hard to tell whats what... The lift is only a month old and every one of my shocks squeek when i go over a speed bump or anything like that. My power steering pump sounds like it wants to take a ****. my exhaust manifold gasket is leaking...sounds really good with my dual flowmasters lemme tell yah. The reason i looked under the truck was im starting to feel a vibration at take off. I dont think the angle of my driveline is correct, my dad has the same truck and lift and he eats through u joints about every 6 months, doesnt seem right to me so im gonna have it looked at by a professional.

I have an 04 with a procomp 6" and my driveshaft has the same space. My front Ujoint is about to take a @#$& also. Im actually taking it to a shop today. It makes a nasty noise at high speed.

ya i have an exhaust leak to. but im putting some long tubes on this weekend so that sound should go away. then my squeeking brakes need to be looked at, and my shocks are crapped out as well. pain in the a$$ right

That is one of the questions I was about ask you guys. I have a 98 F150 2wd and am going to do a 4" lift block in the rear and was wondering if it would pull the slip yoke out like that, anybody know?

I know if you use a tapered lift block it will angle the driveshaft up towards the transmission a little, but I cant find them anywhere, they're becoming hard to find I guess.

Toyz 08-20-2007 12:05 AM

I have a tapered block on my truck and thats what its like. they dont taper that much, i think about 1/4" . Mine came with the fabtech lift but i believe les schwab can get them.

Pro Skate Ramp 08-20-2007 08:34 PM

With the 1/4" taper, was it still a 4" lift? If so I WANT SOME:bows: !

budsstuff 08-27-2007 12:03 AM

only $200 to fix the exhaust leak. they quoted me $400 to $500 so i just bought headers. and im only like 70 miles from you. wtf
