Lift Issues

Just put on my new rancho 4x2.5 lift and and not exactly happy with it. First off it now sounds like something is loose it the front differential when i hit bumps it clanks around! I know it didn't do this before, and the housing doesn't seem to be moving, just the drive axle's are. and my second gripe is the ride. I got the RS9000XL shocks and i feel like i'm gonna get sea sick. I do have the rear shocks mounted upside down, but i don't think this could be it. And i can't even find a guide to tell me which way to adjust the shocks since they didn't come with one cuz there seems to be no arrow or notch on the shock to tell you where your adjustment is set! PLEASE HELP! Thanks

Is it too stiff or too soft? Whichever number setting you want should be turned to the top of the **** if that makes sense. 1 being the softest. If your rears on on upside down, then the setting you want should be to the bottom. Not really sure about the clank you are hearing, did you install the lift yourself or have a shop do it?

No, I leave my shock settings at 1 for around town and switch them to 5 if I go off road at all.

Do you mean you are rocking from side to side? If so, stiffen up your settings and see if that helps at all.

After you lowered the truck back on the ground and the coil springs compressed from the truck's weight, make sure you check to see that the shock bolt/nut that sticks out through the top of the strut is tightened down all the way. I noticed that after I lowered my truck onto it's own weight, I had to tighten up this nut quite a bit more. Just a thought....

You must have not tightened something in the front end. Go back over all the bolts and make sure everything is tight. Don't forget about the 3rd bolt on the top of the front axle.

I put my own lift on and had a clunk sound coming from the front end and it turned out I forgot to tighten the nuts on the sway bar end links.

Just go back over everything. Even if it looks tight, double check it to make sure.
