Why is it that the guys with the 6in lifts and 37's dont need to regear but with the 8in lift and 37's you do need to. Whats the deal with that extra 2 inches that makes regearing needed?

Regearing has nothing to do with suspension and everything to do with tire size. There is absolutely no gearing difference between 37's on a 6" and 37's on a 8". Both would need to be regeared to bring performance back to acceptable levels.

they are both good lifts but if you want a true 8" lift go with rize, the cst isn't true 8".

Save you a ton of money if you do it yourself.

this is going to be long!
im confused are you saying that the rize is more expensive???? casue thats wrong if you found it for cheaper then you are GOD!!! cst comes with uniball UCA which would be the weak link of the rize. the UCA are about $600 if you want to buy them seperatly from the kit. i paid $3100 for my CST plus tax and that was with shock. the rize on average is $2650.

i have looked into both kits exstensivly.... i like to off road and the upper control arms that the CST come with are a must because the stock ones are SH*T!!! and rize retains the stock ones.... i love the look of the rize but i wanted ground cleance and the UCA.

also this talk of with or with out shock i believe you must buy them seperatly from both kits now the Rize used to come with them and now does not. plus i wanted to upgrade to a nice pare so that didnt matter to me. i up graded later to fox 2.0's witch cost me a little over 400 bucks.

i would recomend CST any day for any vehicle over any lift company including Rize.

links:
cst: $2999 comes with shocks& break lines:http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/...ml?id=tvVst5Kj
rize:$2,665.00 doesnt come with shosk or break lines: http://www.marketworks.com/storefron...92&i=206891156

I would stick with the rize.
just want to say if you have no real reason for answering with no expereance or comments on why you think it is better WTF are you aswering for.... just a thought.

they are both good lifts but if you want a true 8" lift go with rize, the cst isn't true 8".
this may be a true statement the rear lift for both trucks it the same and the front.... it seems as the CST sits about an 1" lower i actually think the rize is mor like a 9" i have measured mine and i got 8"s of lift that was with the lift on and stock tires. i added the daystar leveling kit and only use the spriing spacer and got another 1.5" of lift.
Go Fabtech with a body lift
bad idea the body lift will void the fabtech warranty. but a some what affective way to get more lift.. you will just look like a cheap idiot.

Truth. Anyone that thinks a stock upper is going to survive with 35+" tires is just fooling themselves. If you want a mall cruiser, sure the stock upper will live for a while. A uniball is vastly superior to a ball joint in that application.
