oh and what is a good make of lift.. any recommendations?
I've heard some stuff about different types.. nothing that has sold me on one yet.. what do you think?

WIth 3 inch lift springs on a 4x2, you will need new, longer upper control arms to get the alignment withing specs. I'd still suggest a body lift, 2 inch Daystar spacers and lift spindles.

Thanks for the help wandel, since my budget can't really hold up to buying the spindles and i'm only in high school (I can buy it, but i don't want to blow all of my money) i'm wondering what the biggest tire to fit under a 2x4 with a 3 inch body lift will be 305/70/17 i think that is 34 inches. would that fit? Also do you think it would not look good if i didn't level my truck out?

They will probably fit with the right wheel. (OEM or close to OEM specs) Personally, I'd try to install the daystar spacers with the body lift.
