New to the boards

Hello all, Just bought a 2002 F150 Sport 4x4. I love it so far but It needs some work. First, anybody know what the best shocks that I can get for the front? It looks like the front tires are bowed out and it is wearing the inside of the tires.

Welcome. It may need shocks too, but that is an alignment problem.

Look at the Rancho's or the Bilstein's. And Welcome to the Site!

Sounds like you need an alignment bad. I'd suggest inspecting the ball joints, tie rod ends and idler arm. These are all high wear items on our trucks. As for shocks, just about any name brand will be an improvement over the OEM shocks. Bilstien and Rancho have good reputations. I have Pro COmp ES3000's and am happy with them.

If you can see the tires are bowed out by looking at it, you need an alignment at the very least.

Out of alignment is what causes uneven tire wear, but worn front end oarts such as Wandell mentioned can cause the front end to be out of alignment.

So I called around and to get it aligned it will be around $60. Does anyone know how hard it is to change out the ball joints and if I do will I have to get it aligned again?

Yes, you will have to have an alignment after installing new ball joints.
