pickle fork and the idler arm

What does everyone here recommend using to remove the idler arm? I noticed there isn't much room for a hammer down there, and I don't even know if there is a good place for the pickle fork down there. I can borrow one from the auto store, but I've never really used a pickle fork before. Once the crown nut is removed do you place the fork there and pry the arm up, or is there a better way to do it? Thanks in advance.

The pickel fork I used was air driven no prying involved , just put in place and and hold until it comes loose.

You can use a puller if the parts store has one. If you go with the pickel fork, make sure they give you the correct size. I use a 3lb. short handle hammer and place the fork between the rubber boot and linkage, but don't take the nut completely off for safety reasons.
