2005 F150 6" lift kit

I am looking to buy a 6" lift kit for my 2005 FX4. I do mostly highway/street driving, with the occasional desert off roading. Which lift kit would you recommend? I was looking at the fabtech 6" kit with performance shocks and adding a steering stabilizer.

Thanks for your help.

I think the three best lifts for the 04-07's are the Fabtech, Rize and RCD.

Why would you need a steering stabilizer?

I have the 6" Fabtech kit on my truck and love it. I'd hold off on the steering stabilizer because I think you'll find you don't need it.

I have a 6" Fabtech, i love it. I would get the coilover lift kit though, more $$$ but well worth it. Heres a pic of mine.

More pics in my gallery.

I was looking to spend about $5k to makes some mods on my truck. How is the fabtech lift on the road (highway/street)? What are the main differences between the dirt logic and performance shocks?

I currently have 2.5" coil spacers and 35" BFG MT tires and the steering wheel shakes a lot. That's why I was looking at the steering stabilizer. I know it isn't common to have this setup, but my friend had it on his truck and it worked, looked nice, and was a cheaper alternative to lift my truck at the time.

I had the infamous sterring wheel shake also, I rechecked alignment that was OK, i rechecked balancing that was OK. Oddly enough I increased the tire pressure by 10 lbs all around and voila 95 % of the shake dissappeared. It occurred between 50 - 60 MPH.

When I went to the Fabtech lift it didn't drive all that different on the highway/street. It's a little stiffer ride, but not that noticable of a difference. My wife tells me that it rides like a truck now where it before it was more like a car's feeling. The biggest thing I notice is when I go over a series of bumps fast it feels like the rear end wants to slide sideways, but not like an out-of-control feeling.

all lifts with an over size tires are bumpy stick with a 35" and i would do the rcd lift... be a little different then everyone else and i have never heard a bad thing about RCD in my life great product. my buddy has the rcd it also looks like it sitts high than other 6" lifts.

If you use a spacer and retain stock coil overs you will maintain your street ride if you install new coilovers it will ride harder 35" will also stiffen the ride , the stearing stabilizer is a must have.

A must have? I've got 37x13.50s with no steering shimmy. You don't always need steering stabilizers and using them when you don't need them is just putting more strain on your steering system.
