Can I go bigger

Ok, I have a 6" Fabtech suspension lift, and a 3" body lift. I have 37's right now. But, i just had an a add-a-leaf put on and new procomp mx6 shocks put on. Do you think i could upgrade to 38.5

maybe are your torsion bars cranked up at all.... if you crank them a good two inches hell it can be done.... i think.... and then throw in a AAL.

are there any side effects to cranking your torstion bars.? so, if i crank my t-bars with some trimming i could fit 38's. Nice.

Cranking up the t bars will make the initial portion of the front suspension's travel slightly stiffer. Some like this, some hate it.

When i had just the bodylift installed my T-bars were maxed out and I had to change my inner cv boot 3 times in 9 months. So when i installed the suspension lift i didnt want to go through the trouble anymore and only cranked it up a little. Almost a year and no boot problems. The ride was also real harsh with them cranked up all the way IMO.

i have the fabtech 6 inch on my 02 with the stock keys cranked up all the way. ive had it like that for over a year with no cv problems and i love the way it rides. but i have noticed even with the keys cranked i can jack up my truck with a floor jack and the suspension still has up travel before the wheels leave the ground. im sure if i installed lift keys i could proly get 2 more inchs of lift but i would proly sacrifice the ride and thats where the cv problems would step in. when i had my 02 chevy i had the lift keys on it with a 6 inch rcd and i broke cv's left and right. then again it was chevy and everything broke cause i beat the snot out of it.

i use my f150 alot on and offroad thats why i didnt go with lift keys. if you plan on just keeping it mostly street duty with some minor offroad cruzing then put some lift keys on it and crank them to a good height. i have a pic somewhere of a 97-98 f150 with the same fabtech lift, keys and a body lift with 39.5 iroks on it and it cleared.

and oh ya.. i figured out a trick to keep the cv boots from ripping when the keys are cranked. you cut the clips that hold the smaller part of the boot to the axle shaft and slide them up the shaft until the ribs dont rub. then secure them in place with a hose clamp nice and tight. also when u do replace the cv boot or even the whole cv axle, try to get the boot that has the bigger round ribs not the sharp edged ones.
