After looking on here about good off road shocks, I purchased some Bilstein 5100 HD shocks for my 1997 F150. All I can say is OMG! They are super sweet. I run some pretty rough rock roads here in Arkansas. Most OEM shocks don't last 2 years. The Bilsteins give a sweet, firm ride. Not too firm though...just makes the ride nice & smooth...not knocking your teeth and kidneys out.

Thanks for all info. here on shocks. I don't think I will ever have another truck without Bilstein shcoks installed.
