What brand and how big of a lift? Jump under the truck and look for any rubbing on the tie rods against the springs from the tie rod boot clamps. Also look at the tie rod ends where they connect to the spindle and make sure that the brake heat shield isn't jammed up against the tie rod end. Check your power steering fluid also.

it is a 2007 Super Crew, 4.5" super lift, 35" Toyo MT. The installer looked at and said something to the extent that they do not lubricate the steering column very well from the factory... yada yada. It sounds like it is right up in the steering column next to the wheel... in the dash area. I am lost. taking it to ford tomorrow.

Well here is the update... I finally looked and it was a break line rubbing against the steering column. The steering column is sort of square shapped with 2 voids in opposing sides. When It would rub and then hit the void it made a "Pinging" sound. Problem solved!
