3" and 35's

I know this has been beat to death. But i'm thinking a 3" body with 35's. I was wondering how much i could expect my gas milage to drop. I get about 14.5 on average now. And would i have to change gears??? Thanks.

well ill put it this way i have a 3 inch spindle with 35s and my normal gas mileage was 300 but keep in mind its a older truck but no i only get about 250so its a jump. You dont have to get new gears but if you want your normal gas mileage back i would do it.

With a 5.4, 3.55 gears and 35 inch tires I get 13mpg combined city/highway.

With a 4.6L I went with 4.11 gears for better gas mileage and they perform great.
Now I get about a good 15/highway but only 12/city.

5.4L with 3" and 35s (4x4) and I'm averaging about 16 MPG, I have the EDGE though and an Air intake. I didn't regear, you shouldn't need to unless you go with a bigger lift and tires.

You'll see a decrease but it shouldn't be that drastic...

Thanks for the replys. I have the money for the lift but i think i'm going to go on and get K&N CAI first since it will take me a good while to save up for some 35s and new rims. Some nerf bars will hide the frame good won't it? I had a Nissan Hardbody before this truck with 3" body and the amount of frame that it showed was hideous.

Yes, nerf bars will help hide the frame. Our trucks look great with body lifts. Check out my gallary and take a look at how I mounted some GM towhooks. It really clean up my front end after the body lift.
