replacing coil springs

Is replacing the coil spring as simple as getting a spring compressor and compressing the spring and removing? I was changing my shocks and noticed my passenger side coil spring was broke. I have them ordered and they should be here tomorrow so I was wanting to install them in the morning.

how much did the stock coils set you back? I really want to take the rancho leveling kit out, the ride is horrible, but I don't have the factory stuff. I'd need to get new shocks too. Did you need to get a coil compressor to do it? how involved is it to change them?
