Leveling kit and towing???

I want to install a 2" leveling kit but I tow a trailer alot and was wondering if towing will put the ball joints in any more angle. In other words will the wieght on the rear end from the trailer put the front end at worst angle and present problems???

I am curious about the same thing. Also what about a camper with a weight distribution hitch. I'd like to know about overall disadvantages when towing with a leveling kit.

yeah i also tow a camper and an enclosed car trailer frequently. I want the lift on asap, but I tow so much I dont need an unreliable front end.

i have a 2.5" kit and tow a 18 foot enclosed trailer filled with heavy DJ gear. I havent expeierenced any problems (I've prolly put 10k miles on with the kit) except very poor gas mileage but that can be expected with any kind of towing.

raptorman01.

You need to install an equalizer hitch. This levels the truck to the trailer and keeps it there. Go to any travel trailer dealer and they can give you the scoop. It is simple for you to install yourself if the trailer dealership will show you how to use it.

I tow a 19 ft. Airstream and with the equalizer hitch and swar bar this unit is easy to tow. Last year, I pulled a 24 ft Jayco Travel trailer also without problem.

What really helped the most besides the equalizer hitch was the new exhaust and intake system.

Good luck on your decision.

Mert

Mert,
What were the weights of the trailers you have towed in the past? Just curious.

I do have an equlizer hitch, as well as an exhaust and intake. But to be honest it feels like it doesnt have as much power as it did when it was stock? But i dont wanna take them off I love the sound of them. I have the K&N intake and magnaflow 16612 SISO system. feels like it struggles more now then when it was all stock.
