Question 2wd lift suggestions?

Hey whats up Im new here from Ford Truck Enthusiests.

I want to lift the front of my 2006 F150 STX 2WD 3" and I have been told about weak points in the stock suspension, the upper ball joints, knucles, spindles. Is it true or are they built well. I wanted to eliminate all these Problem areas. I have found things like coil overs that are adjustable for the lift. I am going to a prerunner setup for 33" tires, but I don't need 12" of travel. My truck is my commuter, but when I do go off road it will be beaches/dunes and mostly flat open areas. I won't be climbing and most likely no trails. Basically Im asking what would you guys suggest for a setup like this. I also will be getting nitrogen shocks for the rear, but I want to leave it alone as for suspension.

The ball joints on these trucks are high wear items. Some members have had premature ball joint wear with leveling kits and completely stock trucks. 2.5 inches of lift appears to be the limit without really getting severe ball joint angles.

Im thinking about going all out for the 6" Fabtech lift. Ive herd that pro comp has problems with their spindles. All the people that have the 6" Fabtech (or Pro Comp) lift, what do you think of it? Have you had any problems, or malfunctions?

I haven't heard of any problems with the Pro Comp spindles and a lot of members here and FTW have that lift. Most do agree, the Fabtech is a little higher quality.

I have a 6" Fabtech lift on my truck and absolutely love it and know without a doubt I made the best choice for my truck. I highly recommend it, but keep in mind that Fabtech kits come with 2" lift blocks for the rear which will leave you sagging in the back. I actually went with 5" blocks in stead and have no issues.

i dont really care for the pro comp spindles. on the 2wd kit there smaller than the 4x4 spindles, thus trying to add a second coil spacer is nearly impossible and could severley put your upp balljoints in a near death angle.

They seem to be about the same price for the basic fabtech and the comparable procomp. I was also going to the sag. I want the front to be a litttle taller.
