07 F150 questions

Hello, I am a newbie here and have some questions about my truck, I bought an 07 F150 XL 4.2 reg.cab for work because of the fuel prices, I had intented to pretty much keep it stock but after driving it a few days I like it so much I want to fix it up a bit. Here is my question, should I lower the truck or raise it, if I raise it I probably dont want to go to big because of the V6 and if I lower it I dont want to slam it on the ground because I do use it for work and I haul some pretty decent loads some times. Let me know what you think and if you have any pics of both that would be great, also is there any performance mods for the 4.2, yeah I know I should have gotten the V8.

Man that 4.2 is a work horse, best v6 out there in my opinion. Lift it up as high as you need to to clear 33's or 35's and then invest in some gears. 4.30's or 4.88's and it will feel just like stock.

If I lift it up to clear those tires what will I need a 6'' lift, and what is that gonna do to my fuel mileage, plus tires, wheels, lift, gears, = mucho money.

If you have a 4x2 and install an autospring leveling kit, you can fit 33's using the OEM wheels. If you have a 4x4 and install a leveling kit, you can fit 35x12.50's using the OEM wheels or 33's with aftermarket wheels.

Sorry I failed to mention that it is 4x2, and if I lift it I would want it to look lifted I dont want it to be right on top of the tires, but I dont know how that would effect my mileage and power.

Well without regearing you will loose some power. Mileage would be effected but probably not by much, esp if you drive on the freeway alot. 33"s are not that big, if you went to 35"s that would be an all together different story

Just do it. What another mile per gallon? Go 35's or go home.
