Question 2" lowering shackles

I've got a 2wd '04 F150 that I'd like to even out the ride height. I'm considering installing lowering shackles as they are 1) cheap 2) easy to do.
Does anyone have any pros or cons to doing this? Pinion angle affected? Ride quality or handling changed?
Any input is appreciated!

Ground Force shackles come with pinion shims. I have them on my truck and love them.

Stealth, thank you. I've got some lowering shackles ordered. Although, do you possibly mean carrier bearing/driveshaft midship bearing shim vs. pinion shim?

The Ground Force kit comes with wedge shims that put the pinion back in alignment. They have to be bought separately with most brands. I have the Ground Force, looks and works great.

the shims he speaking of go between the axle and the leaf springs. and they are called "pinion angle shims" b.c they affect the angle of the pinion.

I vote do them. They are pretty easy to install, the shims will take longer, but still nothing too hard.
