Question suspension lift for 2wd help!

hi, first time here, i hope somebody can help. i ordered a 2007 f150 supercrew fx2. im looking to lift. is the highest lift you can go a cst 7" suspension? are cst suspension lifts dependable? how high does anybody recommend for a 2wd truck? ive also heard a 2wd truck sits lower than a 4wd? does that mean a lift on a 2wd sits lower than one on a 4x4? any suggestions regarding this will totally help. oh yeah and how big can i go on tires without problems? will the truck be level after the lift? since the factory has a higher back end?

CST makes quality products but they are expensive. A stock 4x4 does sit about 2 inches taller than a stock 4x2. However, a 7 inch lift is a 7 inch lift. Usually, lift kits are designed to level the truck so a 7 inch lift will probably raise the front of the truck 7 inches and the rear about 5 inches.

I have a 6" Fabtech lift on mine. I looked at the larger lifts, but just couldn't justify that much of a cost increase for 1" more of lift. You can go with a 6" lift and a leveling kit that will add another 1.5" to 2.5" of lift then do an AAL to the rear. Also I ended up going with a 5" block in the rear becuase the Fabtech kits come with a 2" block and it leaves the rear end sagging and I didn't want that look.

I also went with the 6' Fabtech. Its a great lift. I added a 2' spacer in the front on top of the lift and a 3' add a leaf in the rear. This gave me a total of 8' lift. Mine now sits the same as a 4wd with a 6' lift.

is a levling kit the same as a body lift? people have suggested i get the body lift only after the new car warranty wears out. only get the suspension lift until then. does that sound right?

No, they are not the same. A leveling kit is basically a small suspension lift (spacer) for the front suspension. A body lift is 3 inches spacers that go between the body and frame.
As for ride height between a 4x4 and a 4x2, think of it this way. If you install a 6 inch lift (most common size) on a 4x4 and a 4x2 and park them next to each other, the 4x4 will still be taller because it was taller to begin with.

The dealership should not have a problem with either one. However, body lifts are a PITA to install on the 04-07's from what I hear.

I would definitely recommend the leveling kit and an AAL over a body lift, lots cheaper and much easier to install. Plus i don't like the gap left by going with a body lift.

Price all depends on what you actually go with. For me I went with the basic 6" Fabtech kit and paid $1450. The leveling kit and AAL will be considerably cheaper than that even with the alignment thrown in. As far as 35's again it's all a matter of what yu actually get. Do a internet search because there are tons of sites you will find for prices on all this stuff. Good luck.
