Shock Problems

I have a '99 f150 4x4 and I cranked my torsion bars to where my truck sits level. It seems ever since I have done that my shocks keep going out. Now I have replaced them 3 times. The shocks have been the same the last 3 times because of a lifetime warranty. The shocks are car-quest brand and are suppose to be heavy duty and I do all city driving. I was wondering if cranking your torsion bars have any effect on the wear of your shocks?

Depends what "level" is. If you are high enough to stretch the shock out all the way with the torsion bar applying pressure (shock too short) it would cause that. Take a shock off and jack the truck up by the frame. Measure the shock extended length and then the distance between the mounting points. The shock should be longer than the distance measurement. If not, you need longer shocks (or less pre-load on the bars).
