Question 98 F150 Suspension Code

i have a 98 f150 that i need to replace the rear leaf springs. the ones on there only have 3 springs and i want to get 4 to carry a larger load. does anyone have the suspension code for a 98 F150 ORP cause they have 4 leafs. i need it to order the leaf springs through the ford dealer. if anyone can help that would be great. also are there any other suggestions? the most i haul is 3 dirt bikes and a small trailer with a quad. my GVWR is 6250lb. thanks

Don't order leaf springs through a dealer unless you want to pay an incredible amount of money. Here's a link for you... http://www.generalspringkc.com/leaf_...7-03_f150.html

BTW the OEM number will be stamped on the overload (fat bottom spring)

Edit: In case you're wondering the oem part numbers for the 3/1 leaf springs are F75Z5560CD or F75A5560CG. Ford actually built over 30 different leaf springs for the 97-03 so those are just a couple of the part numbers.

thank you. do you know if these leaf springs will lift the back end at all or just go back to the stock height?

I'd expect about 1.5-2" of lift from the 3/1 because they're all very similar to free arch of around 1-7/8" so then you factor in the increase in spring capacity which will give you the extra height. Now the HD 4/1 spring which has 2200 lb capacity is a 2-1/4" arch and will probably lift the rear around 2-1/2"

what do you recommend i do. i want the back end to sit a little higher than the front but not tower over it. like i said the most i will have in the back is 3 dirt bikes that adds to about 600-700 lbs.

Give me the OEM part number on your spring which will be on the overload and I can tell you the exact capacity of your current setup and go from there

i have thought about putting air bags on but the leaf springs are so worn out cause the previous owner towed a 5th wheel. if i put air bags the truck would be riding almost completly on those and thats no good. thanks and let me know if you have any other suggestions.

3/1 means you have 3 leaves arched together and an overload (fat bottom spring) so a total of 4 leaves
