newbie needs mentoring

I don't know anything about adding extra's, I have some simple questions, but don't want to search the threads!! this is a sweet site, and I just don't have the time to read all I want...
for starters, what benefit does the 2 inch leveler give you? What kind of job is it to install them?

thanks,,

going by your name Im going to guess that you have either a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. If so than the 2in kit is a piece of cake. bought a 30 min job in your driveway if you know what you are doing. Ive done quite a few.

hey guys,, the name has nothing to do with the truck!!!
I have a 2005 F150 XLT 4x4 SuperCrew shortbox.
Just wondering where I begin with building up/adding onto the truck.

Is there a benefit to leveling it, or is it just for looks?
I tow a large 30' camper with it, and don't want to make towing any more difficult.

Ok, i'll admit. I can be mechanically retarded..but if I do a little checking and get the right tools, I can usually handle it....
Are there any good sources for describing the safest way to install one?

Leveling kits are basically for looks. I'd suggest a Autospring kit because of ease of installation. I think some members have installation pics. Maybe they will post a link.
