Graduation present

ok, so graduation is coming up in about a month and my parents are asking me what i want. i told them i wanted a lift. My question is, who makes the best 4" or 6" lift? i really dont want to go any higher than that. and also, what kind of prices would i be looking at? btw, its a '98 4.6 2wd longbed

Hey dude, SENIORS 07 YEAH BABY!!! Anyway now that thats aside...I am in the same dillema as you are. I chose a slightly cheaper route, a 3.5 inch spindle lift system from Fabtech w/ shocks etc. and then getting a 2 inch level kit spacer system getting 5.5 inches of lift. I can't wait to do this, and Wandell said it should work well. I'm going with this so I can splurge on a nice set of tires!

P.S. 07!!!!

!!07!! anyways... i like the setup you're doing. do you have a 2wd or a 4wd? i think i might do the same thing you are. it looks like it would be alot cheaper. adn 5.5" is right in the middle of where i want to be. so i think that would work out.

I have a 4x2, and am in the same lift dilemma as you...I want a huge lift...then again I gotta tow, and I want functionality. I think that the 5.5 inch lift and the bigger tires, will be just where I want that sucker.

Spindle lift...If you go back on on the lifts f150 page they make one for reg. cab

http://www.performancecenter.com/pro...inch+Lift+Kit/

Spring Spacer...

AAL
http://www.4wheelparts.com/PDT1396.aspx

And then any block...I am still trying to figure out the size block that I would need. With the 2" AAL I think it would be either a 3" or 4" block (3 would be level or slightly lower 4 would be dead on level or slightly higher)

I called the guy for the spindle lift, and he said that the SCREW version is just to support the weight, so if you want a stiffer ride, maybe a bit more hight thats what I would go with. I have an Ext. Cab, so i'm going with the Screw verison. There is no size difference or anything I think its just a stiffer weight shock fluid or somethin' With this lift I am putting 33" tires on, I honestly don't want to go with 35" due to price, and availablility with my rim size (I believe same as yours 17")

I got a $800 budget for graduation, so I was going with a less expensive lift, and don't feel like sending 3k on just a lift. I'm blowing the rest of my money (from work over the summer etc.) on the rest of the lift items, CAI, Custom Exhuast, and tires because I got a 10k bonus for Enlisting in a C.A. MOS (0321) I can spend all the money I have now and save the 10k. This is what I have been shopping for as the least expensive lift, without sacrificing quality. Its Fabtech, and then level blocked, so cheap guys like me unite! lol
