Squeak when turning

I have a 1997 f150 2wd with the 4.2L engine. Since I bought the truck, there has been a squeak when I turn, especially when turning left. When I bought the truck, it came with 17" chrome wheels and oversided tires.

Pittman Arm

I have a simular problem, and was told it was the Pitman arm. Seems to be a common problem on 97s.

Have a 97' that had that same creaking noise when turning. Very frustrating!

Go to your local parts store and get an end for your grease gun that looks like a needle and use it to poke thru your ungreasable boots on your steering components - grease em' good. Problem solved for $4.00.
