It comes with more aggressive tires and some skid plates.

They are pretty much the same. The FX4 series usually comes with the bumpers matching the rest of the truck color wise. Like Wandell stated, skid plate and maybe different shocks. That's about it. Oh yea, the interior may be a tad different as well.

The springs are not heavier, there is no difference in the payload or towing ability....

They also come with cool stickers saying you over paid......

FX4 gauge cluster, shocks, skid plates, color keyed bumpers (body color or grey), H-bar grill, fender flares, and rims.

LOL, it's just an options package. No need to be a tool.

Fx4

Actually, I considered the FX4 similar to the Lariat (I like the center shift lever rather than on the column) but without some of the things on the Lariat I didn't like. (I hate Automatic Air Conditioners! Had it on my 02 Expedition and hated it!) I also liked the fact that I could get it with the 20" wheels (Can't get that on the XLT, at least not with the stock 20's)

Other than that, it does have different shocks, but you can get the skids on any truck as an option anyway.

Love my FX4!
