Suspension Replacement Question

Well, my 1999 F-150 which I bought with 78000 miles on it two years ago has reached 94000 more or less trouble free miles, however I think my suspension is due for some new parts.

The ride has degraded quite a bit, especially in the last year. I can not quite put my finger on what exactly is worse, but it just seems like the roads all feel rougher, bumps hit harder, and the steering/handling just does not seem as sharp as it once did. I also have noticed my tires are getting pretty bald, and worked poorly in the snow last winter, and my brakes cause quite a bit of shudder...mostly after a couple hard stops.

So, what all should I look in to having replaced? I figured on new tires, alignment, shocks, front rotors, brake pads, rear drum shoes, and tie-rod ends. Maybe even consider draining and replacing the brake fluid. Anything else I should know about? I hate to go to Sears and just say "fix all the worn stuff..."

I think they would rape me...or at least my credit card.

I also can do some of this stuff myself, at least the brakes anyway, maybe even the shocks.

Any comments are appreciated,

Mike

You can order all the stuff you need from many places (rockauto.com). all you mention is fairly easy to do. Only need the pros for the alinement after.
The best tires I've used to date have been Continental. Goodyears only good in the dry, Dakota worked well but wore fast.
