Coilover dust covers

Anyone running without these? I'm going to be putting some Bilstein 5100's on and think they'll look much better without those crappy black covers. Are there any REALLY good reasons NOT to do this? Thanks for the help.

The boots are supposed to protect the shaft of the shocks. Some people believe they trap mud and dirt and cause rust. Personally, I don't run the rubber boots on my shocks.

Thank for the input Wandell. Have you ever had any issues with pitting or rust on the shafts?

Hey Milo99, are still running those bajas? How do you like them? How's the road noise, overall wear? I'm looking at getting some new shoes for my rig and love the look of those claws!

Im not running them anymore. I got some 35s (Nitto Mud Grapplers) when I got the lift. Wanted to get the Bajas in 35s but they are 13.5" wide so I wasnt sure if they would rub. I think I might get them when the nittos run out. Looks like I have the room. I really liked them. They worked great. You good hear them but they werent loud at all. The Mud Grapplers are way louder. I had some bf goodrich mudders that were louder than the bajas on my 01 screw. I cant say how long they would last you, I didnt even run 5k miles on them. They still looked new if that helps any.
