recommended lift for 03 expedition?

Not looking for anything extreme - I'd like to lift the truck 2-2.5 " and get a little larger tire. I took the Ex hunting last fall and bottomed out in some of the mud on the farm roads - not a big deal per se, but I found mud all over the underside of the PLASTIC gas tank and it got me to thinking that if there had been a rock down there...

So a few inches higher would be nice w/out needing a step ladder to get in the thing (that will come later when my kids are done college and I forward all their bills on to them and I get to play with real toys again).

What kits would you recommend that are user friendly to install? While you'r at it, any recommendations for new wheels/tires would be welcomed too.

The only lifts I know of for the 03-06 Expys are the 2.5 inch Daystar coilspring spacers and the Rize suspension lift, which I believe is 8 inches.

he has an 03 i believe rize only makes it for a 04 and up. i know there are a few companies out there maybe someone will chime in. if all else fails get a body lift and cranke up the torsion bars to get it level. i believe you can fit some 35" tires depending on your backspacing.

How bout those auto spring kits, or the truxx?

The Ex doesn't have torsion bars (I don't think so anyway).

I actually like the way the 02' look body wise, but I love the fold down seat inthe 03.

The Expedition was redesigned in 2003, not 2004. His 2003 has IFS and IRS like my 2005. I'm not sure if the Autospring and other leveling kits would work our back or not. I'd look at Daystar's website and see if the front and rear lifts carry the same part numbers as their lifts for 2004-2007 F-150's. If they do, it would stand to reason that any leveling kit for a 2004-07 F-150 would work on the front and rear suspension of 2003-2006 Expys.

The Daystar kit is available for the 03. I was kinda shying away from using a 'plastic' spacer type of kit. The Truxx is all steel and is available for 03. Just wondering if anybody has used them

And my Ex is not OLD! Just aging gracefully, thank you very much

Yes it has independent front and rear suspension. And it now has one new outer tie rod too! Oye.

I had Daystar spacers on my old Jeep for years. They are a proven product.
