there are a few ways you could do it, with a body lift. or cheap suspension would be coil spacers and either a lift block in the rear or an add a leaf. is it a 4x4? and a 1996?

you dont have torsion bars, but the coil spacer would lift it up, probably still not high enough for a 33, its only 2 inches. you could do a body lift for 3 inches and it would be higher, but if you did both you could clear a 33 no problem. the person to ask is wandell, i am not to familiar with the 2wd heights and clearances, because i have got a 4wd. but im pretty sure you will need more than 2 inches of a coil to clear that 33. if it was a 4x4 the coil and aal would be fine, but if you do the coil and a 3 in body lift it will level off the slope towards the front end and should be able to clear the 33. and look pretty good.

Cheapest bet would be to put a Heavy Duty variable rate coil up front which will give you about 2-2.5" depending on the exacts to your truck now such as cab, engine, trans, ac and wheelbase. Part number you're looking for is a CC824 or the CC824HD depending on the above variables. For the rear just put blocks in or add a leaf.

You can get them from your local parts store or order them online. Obviously you'll pay more locally but will get them sooner.

Another Option

I put a set of spindles on my buddies 2WD 97' ext cab from Pro Comp (3 in Lift) and it rode just like a stock truck would. We mounted a set of 285/75R/16 BFG's on it and it looked good. This size is 33" tall. Hope this helps or at least gives you other options.

He has a Twin I Beam while the 97-03 has control arms

Edit: If it was a 97-03 then you would go with coil# 80100 which are the "Super Duty" springs for the for the 5.4. Not Super Duty as in truck but Super Duty as in strength.

I'm not sure with a 96, but I would think combining a 3 inch body lift and a 2 inch coilspring spacer (or lift coils) would give you enough height to fit 33's.
