a few questions and some advice
First off i want to say hi to all, i'm new. Second i (like a lot of people here) am looking for a leveling kit. Seen lots of info on here, mostly pointing towards the AutoSpring kit. One of my questions is what is so bad about poly spacers? Also, has there been any issues about rust on the metal spacers. With the questions out of the way, i was at the local Ford dealer today asking a mechanic friend of mine about these lifts and he told me that i need to bring my truck up there and tell them that it is pulling to the right(which its not). He told me that Ford stopped putting these certain spacers on there that allow the truck to be aligned. He said if i brought my truck up there within the first 4 or 5K miles they would replace them for little to nothing(cant remember how much he said). Also that it would cost around $500 to get the spacers put in later for alignment. So if you or someone you know has a 07 F150 let them know quick. Thank yall.
Nothings wrong with the polyurethane spacer, in fact it's a better kit than the metal one the problem is you have to disassemble the coil from the shock to install it and most of the people on here do this particular job by themselves because it's so easy with the metal yet near impossible with the poly unless you have a heavy duty spring compressor. Kind of a good rule of thumb is if you do it yourself then go with the metal but if you have a shop do it then go with the poly
Yeah, if you are going to do it yourself, get the metal spacer. I got the poly spacer for my 04 when I bought it new, and tried to do it myself, took me ALL day, and a couple of times I thought I was going to have to have it towed to someone to finish it.
