Ready to lift...HELP!!!

Hello fellas...I'm new to this forum and have read great threads so far. Thanks in advance!!!

I currently have 05 XLT supercrew on 24 inch TIS wheels. STock suspension. I am selling these to change the look of my truck. I have read alot on the pro-comp 6" lift and 33" or 35" tires. What would I need to do to run this setup. Also my truck is only 2 wd version. Should have gotten the 4x4 but my mistake. Please give any suggestions and let me know what they do towrds gas mileage? Clearance? ect any info you can give me to learn more. Want to do this right...one shot and that way I don't spend more funds down the road.

Any lift kit would look good. Fabtech, Procomp, etc.... Mine is lifted 6" with a 3inch bodylift. I fit 37's in their with little rubbing. It would only rub on a hard U-turn that wasn;t completely level. Had to trim the plastic on the inner fenderwell. You'll need to lower the gear ratio too. 2wd will make for a cheaper job, not to mention the front chassis parts are easier to change on a 2 wheel drive. Gas mileage sucks with our without the lift in my opinion. A good combo would be a 6" lift with 35 inch tires. It'll look sweet. I personally would add a 3" body lift too. IMO it looks tougher when you raise the body a little.

I have the same truck as you with the exception that mine is an 06 and I'm getting ready to do the same thing. I'm going with the Fabtech kit myself because I'm thinking about keeping my leveling kit up front and this wouldn't be an option with the Pro Comp kit. I'm also going with a 35" tire and have gotten feedback that there shouldn't be any issues with the setup.

The suggestion that I would give (based on others input) is either go with a bigger block for the rear (2WD kits come with a 2" block) or do an AAL to the rear to keep your truck from sagging.

Spinnintires is the truck I look at because he has the exact setup that I will be going with and his is also a 2WD.

6" lift IMO I like fabtech but I am biased because I just put mine on.
Tires 33" is what I have on now I think I remember someone saying 35" will fit your application no major problems

You should be able to fit 35's with the 6 inch Pro Comp or Fabtech lift.
