Help Build My Lift Please
Help Build My Lift Please
I posted up a while back about wanting to raise my truck and got a few responses. Now I am finally buckling down and doing it and I need/want your help. This is for a 99 2wd supercab F150 5.4. What I really want is to raise the front 2" and the rear 1". This should give me a relatively level stance, correct? And I wouldn't need to change shocks, A arms, etc with this small of a lift, right? Only problem is, I can't locate a 2" spacer to use in the front. All of the ones I have found are 1.5" or 2.5" and the 2.5" says that it requires aftermarket A arms. That would put me WAY out of budget. I'm looking at doing this on the cheap, as it is my daily driver and I dump most of my money into my family, house, and Mustang. That's why I was wanting to do with the spring spacers and blocks.
So, what advise/comments/suggestions do you have for me? Any and all replies are immensely appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

I believe the Daystar spacers will give you 2 inches of lift, but they are actually 1.5 inches thick. THat is probably the confusion. You won't need new shocks or anything else if you don't go over 2 inches of lift. Some trucks need camber bolts to get the alignment within specs, but some don't.
You can get a SKG alum 1.5" spacer for $40 call 858-748-3504 ask for alex
I have a alignment kit for sale for $30 my email mikewendt@yahoo.com
and you can get a add a leaf or a small block on ebay for cheap

Yes I like the alum. ones better because you never lose your lift, I have heard from a few people the urethane ones wear out and you lose half of the hieght

Alright Mike. I believe you've got me convinced that the SGK one is the one to go with. What all comes in the kit? Would shock bushing spacers be needed? Most of the urethane kits I've seen have one included. Also, I may pick up that alignment kit from you. Where exactly are those camber bolts installed?
Thanks for all the help!

Thanks for the info! I will probably call SKG tomorrow to order the spacers. Do you think I will need the camber bolts since I am just going with a 1.5" spacer on a 2WD truck? I don't mind spending the money at all if I need them.
Dumb question: 2WDs don't have torsion bars up front, right? Everything I've read is all about 4WDs.

i have an 02' 2wd supercab, i have already had the daystar coil spacer and it was JUNK, it made the front suspension sqeak and rattle like you would not believe, i finally found the skg aluminum spacers about a month ago. i ordered them, skg was great had them to me in 3 days i think. anyway the skg spacers are MUCH better because they sit below the spring. my daystar spacers were in for just over a year and they caused my shock covers to bend, and they were making my spring come more and more out of the pocket and bow out, with the skg the spring is correct again and there is no noise, and i gained about .5-.75" of ride hieght. so definetly give alex at skg a call and get their spacers
